Cruelty, Civilty, and Other Weighty Matters

How is weight a public issue?
Weight is such a big public issue because of food. Food tastes so good. It is easier to grab packages of potato chips than to make a vegetable platter or a healthy snack.
Television is a big factor to our weight problems. The advertisements are very tempting to go get something to eat. From restaurants to chocolate they are all mouth watering good.
Now the majority of families eat their T.V. dinners in front of the television because it is easier to cook your dinner in the microwave and sit while watching T.V. something that I know very one likes to do. Instead of making a home cooked meal, setting the table, and sitting together as a family.
People now rely on fast food because it is fast and easy. Which are mostly hamburgers and French fries and you can super size it to if you are really hungry. People now no time any more, they barely have time to eat so when we do have a 10 minute lunch break fast food is the only opinion for most people. We don’t have time to make lunches in the morning or the night before with work and/or having children. Children have a adapted this eating issue to because their parents are a work all day so they have to make their own snacks and meals so parents buy easy to grab snack like pop and cookies and easy dinners or lunches like frozen meals to cook in the microwave.
I think there is a way to stop this nonsense. Make healthier grab snacks and meals. It’s all about making it easy for people with their busy lives and work schedules. We can’t stop eating; we have to eat to survive. So if we just make simple food changes we would probably see a lot of changes in our health and body.

Yeah I think you hit the nail on the head with this one. Food companies place additives in the food that make us addicted to it- which leads us to wanting more. THey need to cut the crap out of food and place natural ingredients in things- I believe this would drasticlly cut down on America's weight issue. Great comment!

I really liked your response! Busy-ness is no excuse for not eating healthy. If anything, healthier food can be less messy than other food so it's easier to eat!

You made quite a few really valid points about why we eat the way we do though...
